I grew up in Los Angeles, surrounded by the arts. I sang in my first school show at 5 and picked up the guitar at 12. Raised by a single mom, my creativity was encouraged and she never told me I had to have a back-up plan. So I didn't. The arts are all I know, really. I have spent the better part of a decade working in theatre and not focusing any attention on my songwriting. When the pandemic hit in 2020 and we were all trapped at home, I started writing again. I realized how much I missed it. When the world started opening up again, I was working in Nashville and connected with my old friend, Scot Sax. Way back in the 90s, I had sung on some demos of songs Scot had written, but we had never tried writing together. In the fall of 2022, we wrote our song “Changing” in an hour, over Zoom and we released that song less than a month later. The response was overwhelmingly great and we realized we needed to do more. So we embarked on this EP. I went back down to Nashville in February, where we recorded the majority of this music in a week at Scot's studio, TwoGuitarGarage. Our music is personal. It's about real life situations that most people have experienced at least once in their life. I hope you love what we have created for you. I know I do. This one is for you, Marmie.
